Elevate your brunch or appetizer game with Smoked Sliced Salmon. This
delicious dish is perfect for creating elegant appetizers or serving at brunch gatherings, providing a rich and smoky flavor that pairs beautifully with cream cheese and bagels.
Ingredients:
● 1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skin removed
● 2 tbsp kosher salt
● 2 tbsp sugar
● 1 tsp black pepper
● 1 lemon, thinly sliced
● Fresh dill, for garnish
● Wood chips (apple or cherry work well)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Salmon: In a small bowl, mix the kosher salt, sugar, and black pepper. Rub the mixture evenly over the salmon fillet.
2. Marinate: Place the salmon in a dish, cover it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 1-2 hours to allow the flavors to penetrate.
3. Rinse and Dry: Rinse the salmon under cold water to remove the salt mixture. Pat it dry with paper towels.
4. Slice the Salmon: Thinly slice the salmon and arrange the slices on a platter.
5. Add Smoke: Using your Bon Apperoo™ culinary smoker, add the desired wood chips (apple or cherry work well) and follow the instructions to infuse the salmon with smoke for at least 5 minutes. Ensure the smoke fully envelops the slices for maximum flavor.
6. Serve Immediately: Enjoy the smoked salmon shortly after smoking for the best flavor and texture. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh dill.
Pro Tip: For an extra touch of flavor, try adding a sprinkle of capers and finely chopped red onion on top of the smoked salmon slices.
